Music majors can study, perform, or create music depending on their focus. Students pursuing a performance emphasis receive instruction on instruments or voice from faculty musicians and obtain performance experience. Other students may focus on music history, theory, and appreciation. Graduates are prepared with a liberal arts education to start them on their music career in the music business as a producer, performer, composer, manager of a band or artist, sound/recording technician or engineer, and more.
The general education component of this degree is a 35 unit block called the Arizona General Education Curriculum (AGEC). You must complete the AGEC-A.
