Transfer Tools Home

Special Education majors learn the skills to teach children and youth who have disabilities as well as those who do not. This degree program is built on foundations in elementary education (teaching of math, science, social studies, reading, etc.) followed by intensive coursework in special education. Teaching practicums and fieldwork give Special Education majors hands-on experience. Graduates are prepared to become certified special education teachers and work in elementary school settings.

The general education component of this degree is a 35 unit block called the Arizona General Education Curriculum (AGEC). You must complete the AGEC-A.
