Philosophy

Transfer Tools Home

Philosophy majors explore the fundamental questions of human existence. Philosophy students will study the history of ideas and use them to understand how they contributed to contemporary problems. Issues in physics, biology, religion, art, and law are also examined. Students will learn to read more carefully, think more reflectively, and write more clearly so they can discuss and answer moral and ethical questions. Graduates with a philosophy degree will find work in advocacy, mediation, communications, education, or policy, and will also be well prepared for graduate studies.

The general education component of this degree is a 35 unit block called the Arizona General Education Curriculum (AGEC). You must complete the AGEC-A.
