1. Explain and demonstrate the selection of appropriate hand and power tools for specific tasks and trade terms related to these tools. (I)
2. Demonstrate basic safety procedures and the selection of appropriate safety equipment for use of specific hand and power tools including basic maintenance. (I) 3. Identify and explain the safe use of specific rigging equipment, common knots, specific types of derricks and cranes. (II) 4. Identify terms, symbols, abbreviations, classifications, and components of construction drawings. (III) 5. Interpret and use drawing dimensions, grid lines, and plan location. (III) 6. Solve calculations and conversions using addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and decimals including use of algebra and geometry operations. (IV) 7. Demonstrate and identify proficiency in measurements using a standard ruler, metric ruler, and a measuring tape. (IV) 8. Identify and apply Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards and regulations to create or supplement a safety and health program, fall and fire hazard prevention, and abatement procedures. (V) 9. Demonstrate safe and proper usage of ladders, scaffolds, barriers and barricades. (VI, VII) 10. Demonstrate electrical safety measures when performing lockout and tag out procedures. (VIII) 11. Identify and practice effective communication techniques and soft skills. (IX) 12. Identify key workplace issues such as sexual harassment, substance abuse and stress. (X) 13.
