Description: Introduction to vSphere and VMware ESXI 5.5 server in the enterprise. Covers many aspects of virtualization for VMware ESXI server administration. Designed to develop knowledge and skills required to install, configure and troubleshoot a VMware ESXI Server (vSphere) including basic network functions. Provides basic command line and vCenter (formerly Management User Interface (MUI)) using VMware vSphere Client.

6. Explain how to manage ESXi storage using vCenter Server. (VI)
7. Create, install, and configure Virtual Machines (VMs) within an ESXI server. (X,XI)
8. Configure networking within the ESXI server environment. (VIII,IX)
9. Explain the difference between a standard virtual switch and a virtual distributed switch.(VIII)
10. Configure virtual servers using the vSphere vCenter server. (XI)
11. Configure and manage memory including virtual memory for virtual servers using vCenter. (II,IV,X,XI)
12. Manage VMs using vCenter server. (V)
13. Deploy and manage thin-provisioned virtual machines. (V)
14. Explain the importance of VMotion as it relates to Distributed Resource Scheduler.(VII)
15. Explain the role of disaster recovery and backup. (V)
