Description: Introduction of Nurse of the Future competencies as a foundational framework for development of the professional nurse. Basic care concepts and the nursing process are utilized to meet the needs of adult and older adult patients.

1. Utilize the nursing process when providing basic care to culturally diverse adults with an emphasis on older adult patients. (I)
2. Employ professional behaviors consistent with legal and ethical guidelines. (II)

5. Identify elements of technology and information management used to document patient care and promote safety. (V)

8. Employ established safety protocols and plans for selected clinical skills and procedures. (VIII)
