Description: Continued study of vocabulary, sentence structures, and cultural awareness necessary to improve speaking and listening skills in Spanish. Emphasis on fluency and accuracy in spoken Spanish



MCCCD Official Course Competencies
1. Demonstrate comprehension of increasingly complex spoken Spanish. (I)
2. Answer questions and express opinions extemporaneously about a variety of topics using correct Spanish pronunciation and a broad range of verb forms. (II)
3. Communicate wants, needs, and commands.(II)
4. Describe events that happen, will happen, or have happened. (II)
5. Identify customs commonly found in the Hispanic world. (III)
6. Describe experiences with Hispanic culture in student`s community. (III)
7. Perform in social situations in a culturally correct manner. (III, VI)
8. Engage in Spanish conversation using present, future, and preterit/imperfect indicative and compound verb tenses. (IV)
9. Converse in Spanish using present subjunctive verb tenses. (IV)
10. Paraphrase Spanish literary and journalistic readings accurately. (V)
11. Describe and discuss customs and culture of Hispanic societies. (V)
12. Listen to and discuss selected Spanish-language musical selections. (VII)
13. Watch and discuss Spanish-language movies and television programs. (VII)
