Description: Dictation, transcription, and readback of Question/Answer testimony material at 120 words per minute. Required speed development: 120 words per minute.





MCCCD Official Course Competencies
1. Practice the principles of machine shorthand in dictation and readback of various Question/Answer testimony material. (I)
2. Write brief forms relating to Question/Answer material. (II)
3. Write five minutes of dictated Question/Answer testimony material at 120 words per minute. (III)
4. Write speed drills of dictated number and letter combinations, proper names, and geographic locations. (IV)
5. Identify on machine up to four different speakers in a courtroom or deposition setting. (IV)
6. Write dictated Question/Answer testimony material with no less than 95% accuracy. (IV)
7. Transcribe Question/Answer testimony material with no less than 95% accuracy in a specified period of time. (V)
8. Read back Question/Answer testimony material at 120 words per minute. (VI)
