1. Identify specific commonly used pre-operative medications and their use, action, side effects, routes of administration and common dosages. (I)
2. Demonstrate specific types of medications, administration methods, complications and monitoring techniques. (II) 3. Assemble hemostatic, local and irrigation solutions for administration on the sterile field. (II) 4. List the agents, action, administration and complications of local hemostatic and irrigation medications. (II) 5. Demonstrate the role of responding to medication reactions. (III) 6. Demonstrate potential hazards of anesthesia administration. (IV) 7. Demonstrate procedures utilized to promote safety during the administration of medications in the operating room. (IV) 8. Show application of contrast media and dyes utilizing anesthesia supplies in the operating room. (V) 9. Demonstrate measuring medications while preparing for administration. (VI) 10. Prepare medications utilizing sterile technique for use on the sterile field. (VII) 11. Apply safe handling of drugs according to operating room policies and procedures. (VII) 12. Practice medication management in the sterile field for surgical specialties. (VII) | |||
