Description: Introduction to construction, manipulating, and rendering three-dimensional (3D) objects and theatrical stage spaces using CAD software and post-production software.



MCCCD Official Course Competencies
1. Design and manage three-dimensional drawing files. (I)
2. Configure display. (I)
3. Create a variety of three-dimensional views of the same object and/or scenic space. (I-III)
4. Edit and modify three-dimensional objects. (II)
5. Construct three-dimensional model types from given two- dimensional objects and/or scenic spaces. (II, III)
6. Render three-dimensional drawings including application of basic material textures, finishes, and lighting effects. (IV-VII)
7. Critique still renderings using post-production software. (V-VII)
8. Produce animated finished objects of the scenic space. (VII)
MCCCD Official Course Competencies must be coordinated with the content outline so that each major point in the outline serves one or more competencies. MCCCD faculty retains authority in determining the pedagogical approach, methodology, content sequencing, and assessment metrics for student work.
