Description: Fundamental techniques and terminology of acting through physical and vocal expression, improvisation, and monologue and scene work. Emphasis on characterization



MCCCD Official Course Competencies
1. Write a personal assessment of physical and vocal characteristics. (I)
2. Perform physical and vocal exercises, and organize a warm-up program. (I)
3. Identify and explain the importance of imagination, concentration, and observation in acting. (I)
4. Define and use basic acting terminology. (II)
5. Perform individual, partnered, and group improvisations to communicate character, emotion, and conflict. (III)
6. Write a character analysis as a basis for character interpretation. (III)
7. Write a scene analysis. (III)
8. Perform and critique a monologue and/or duet acting scene. (III)
9. Evaluate performance feedback from peers and instructor. (III)
