Description: Advanced draping techniques for fashion design. Includes draping jackets, coats, slacks, and trousers in woven fabrics and draping a variety of garments in knit fabrics. Drape and construct an original design



MCCCD Official Course Competencies
1. Drape, mark and true patterns for a variety of jackets, coats, pants, jeans, and trousers in muslin. (I)
2. Measure, block, mark, and align knit fabrics. (II)
3. Drape, mark, and true patterns in a variety of knit fabrics for swimwear, lingerie, tops, and bottoms. (II)
4. Drape cowl necklines, draped backs, overlays, and sleeve variations in knit fabrics. (II)
5. Drape and construct a garment directly in fashion fabric. (III)
6. Sketch an original design. (IV)
7. Select fabric, trims, and notions for original design. (IV)
8. Drape, mark and true pattern for original design. (IV)
9. Calculate yardage for original design. (IV)
10. Construct and evaluate original design. (IV)
