Description: Developing a statement of marketing direction and a related marketing plan. Designed for the small business owner or manager



MCCCD Official Course Competencies
1. Describe the benefits of a marketing plan. (I)
2. Develop a brief statement of direction which reflects the function and purpose of the business and indicates the focus of business strategy for the coming year. (II)
3. Write a marketing plan based on analysis of the marketplace and specific plans for achieving marketing objectives. (III)
4. Compile an appendix which includes additional information (e.g., reports, research studies) in support of the marketing plan. (IV)
5. Develop a method to evaluate the effectiveness of the plan. (V)
MCCCD Official Course Competencies must be coordinated with the content outline so that each major point in the outline serves one or more competencies. MCCCD faculty retains authority in determining the pedagogical approach, methodology, content sequencing, and assessment metrics for student work.
