Description: Analysis of the successful operation of a home-based business. Includes study of economic feasibility, practicality, and adjustments for the family. Analysis of the advantages/disadvantages of operating a home based business, versus a storefront business. Review of current trends in home business opportunities and franchises. Descriptions of home businesses that have succeeded in local, national, and international markets

2. Identify and compare types of home-based businesses, and describe the advantages and disadvantages specific to each. (II)
3. Describe state, local, and national regulations affecting home businesses. (III)

6. Identify insurance needs of the home-based business. (VI)
7. Design professional marketing strategies for a product or service sold from a home-based business. (VII)

10. Assess communication opportunities with other home-based businesses. (X)
11. Identify fraudulent operations, offers, and scams. (XI)
