Description: Continued study of grammar, pronunciation, and vocabulary of the Navajo language. Emphasis on listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills.



MCCCD Official Course Competencies
1. Write a composition in Navajo of at least 150 words applying learned principles of vocabulary and structure. (I, II)
2. Identify syntactic structures specific to the Navajo language. (I-III)
3. Use correct verbal conjugations specific to the Navajo language. (I-V)
4. Speak, read, write, and listen to basic Navajo words, sentences, and questions. (I-V)
5. Relate customs and culture of Navajo people. (I-V)
6. Use correct pronunciation and intonation of the Navajo language. (II, III)
7. Read and explain meaning from a written Navajo text. (II, III)
8. Participate in a Navajo event or activity in the community. (V)
