Description: Intermediate theoretical and performance skills in many styles of jazz improvisation.

1. Notate, analyze, and perform jazz chord progressions. (I)
2. Demonstrate and analyze compositional techniques in a jazz melody. (II)
3. Demonstrate improvisation techniques. (III)
4. Demonstrate improvisation on II-V-I chord progression. (IV)
5. Analyze chord progression used in jazz blues. (V)
6. Analyze chord substitutions on blues form (VI)
7. Analyze and construct guide tone lines. (VII)
8. Perform and construct proper voice leading. (VIII)
9. Construct basic chord substitutions. (IX)
10. Construct poly chords. (X)
11. Demonstrate melodic analyze skills (XI)
12. Demonstrate harmonic analyze skills. (XII)
