Description: Interdisciplinary examination of selected topics in cultural diversity. Study of the interrelationships among diverse cultures within the contemporary United States. Selected topics vary.



MCCCD Official Course Competencies
1. Identify and explain the selected topic as it applies to cultural diversity within the United States. (I)
2. Describe the interdisciplinary perspectives that apply to the selected topic. (I)
3. Trace the history of the targeted culture(s) within the United States, and identify their cultural, social, and/or scientific contributions. (I)
4. Identify cultural challenges that arise from issues related to the selected topic. (I)
5. Compose at least three assignments in oral and/or written discourse related to the selected topic as it applies to cultural diversity in the United States. (II)
6. Locate, interpret, and evaluate reference sources related to the selected topic. (II)
7. Use reference sources to support a written and/or oral argument related to the selected topic. (II)
8. Incorporate feedback from others to improve assignments in oral and/or written discourse related to the selected topic. (II)
