Description: Technical theory, safety considerations, and application of shop and welding processes commonly used in manufacturing, including oxyacetylene welding, brazing, and cutting, SMAW (Elec ARC), GMAW (MIG), GTAW (TIG) and plasma cutting



MCCCD Official Course Competencies
1. Set up equipment and safely perform oxyacelylene welding, brazing and cutting. (I, II)
2. Set up arc welding equipment, select rods, and produce acceptable welds in the flat and vertical positions. (I, II, III, IV, V)
3. Select, set up, and operate equipment to produce acceptable MIG welds in the flat and vertical positions. (I, IV)
4. Explain the TIG process. (V)
5. Set up and operate plasma cutting equipment, and produce acceptable cuts. (VI)
