Description: Designed to provide students learning English as a second language the opportunity for the practice of English in a supervised setting. Practice listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills in English using modals, auxiliary verbs, comparatives and superlatives, pronouns, and everyday words.



MCCCD Official Course Competencies
1. Use modals to express possibility, probability, obligation, need, and ability in statements and questions. (I)
2. Use has, have, and had to form perfect tense questions and statements. (II)
3. Use comparative and superlative adjectives and adverbs in sentences. (III)
4. Use subject, object, possessive, and reflexive pronouns in sentences. (IV)
5. Use everyday verbs, nouns, modifiers, and prepositions appropriately. (V)
