Description: Study of idiomatic English for speakers of English as a Second Language(ESL). Emphasis on commonly misunderstood expressions. Includes practice on a computer or with audio tapes.



MCCCD Official Course Competencies
1. Identify an idiomatic expression in a compound written sentence. (I, IV)
2. Substitute an idiomatic expression for a non-idiomatic word or words in a compound written sentence. (II,IV)
3. Use an idiomatic expression in a compound written response to a question. (III,IV)
