Description: Emphasis on the acquisition of basic English vocabulary including identifying and pronouncing words related to people, medical/dental care, occupations and other activities.



MCCCD Official Course Competencies
1. Identify and pronounce basic nouns and verbs relating to plants, animals, maps, transportation, education, and leisure activities. (I)
2. Use basic nouns and verbs relating to plants, animals, maps, transportation, education, and leisure activities in oral and written simple sentences. (I)
3. Associate pictures with oral cues. (I)
4. Identify commonly used verbs, nouns, pronouns, adverbs, adjectives, and prepositions in context. (II)
5. Use commonly used verbs, nouns, pronouns, adverbs, adjectives, and prepositions in context. (II)
