Description: Second level of English as a Second Language (ESL). Continued emphasis on conversational skills, pronunciation, vocabulary building and grammar with some reading and sentence level writing.

MCCCD Official Course Competencies
1. Identify the parts of speech in a sentence. (I) 2. Use capital letters and punctuation correctly in a written paragraph. (I) 3. Write sentences in which the subjects and verbs agree. (I) 4. Write sentences which combine nouns, main clauses, verbs, and phrases. (I) 5. Edit sentences. (I) 6. Use grammar functions correctly in sentences. (II) 7. Use commonly confused verbs correctly in sentences. (II)
