Description: Examination of the skills teachers need to effectively integrate technology into core curriculum. Examination of the necessary skills students need to meet national technology standards. Evaluate current research and apply to classroom practice. Lesson plan development emphasized



MCCCD Official Course Competencies
1. Identity and summarize the National Education Technology Standards for Teachers. (I)
2. Identify and summarize the National Education Technology Standards for Students and/or the Arizona Technology Standards for grades 7-12. (I)
3. Analyze own teaching practices and learning environment to identify needed changes to effectively use technology. (II)
4. Apply current research into technology integration practices. (III)
5. Create lesson plans that will integrate technology into core curriculum and develop students` proficiency of the National Education Technology Standards and/or Arizona Technology Standards in grades 7-12. (IV)
6. Evaluate a variety of software to determine overall effectiveness for classroom integration. (V)
7. Assess students` proficiency in the use of technology. (I-V)
8. Observe a variety of teachers using technology in their classroom. (I-V)
