Description: Basic axioms of algebra, linear equations in one or two variables, operations on polynomials, rational expressions, simultaneous solutions of linear equations, laws of exponents

1. Demonstrate the ability to use the real number system and perform the operation of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. (I)
2. Evaluate expressions containing variables and constants. (II)
3. Add, subtract, multiply, and divide polynomials. (III)
4. Write and solve linear inequalities. (IV)
5. Factor and determine the roots of polynomials. (V)
6. Add, subtract, multiply, and divide proper rational expressions, and reduce the result to simplest form. (VI)
7. Solve simultaneous linear equations. (VII)
8. Demonstrate the ability to apply the laws of exponents and radicals. (VIII)
