Description: Ultrasound imaging of the breast. Includes terminology, technique, physics and instrumentation. Breast anatomy, physical examination and procedure findings. Pathology and correlation with other imaging modalities.

MCCCD Official Course Competencies
1. Describe the terminology relating to breast ultrasound physics. (I, II)
2. Describe the anatomy and physical exam of the breast. (III, IV)
3. Describe invasive procedures related to breast examination. (V, VIII)
4. Discuss the benign and malignant lesions seen in breast imaging. (VI, VII)
5. Describe correlative imaging of the breast. (VIII)
MCCCD Official Course Competencies must be coordinated with the content outline so that each major point in the outline serves one or more competencies. MCCCD faculty retains authority in determining the pedagogical approach, methodology, content sequencing, and assessment metrics for student work. Please see individual course syllabi for additional information, including specific course requirements.
