Description: Observation of correct hospital policies and procedures in the clinical setting. Health delivery systems to include private, for profit, not-for-profit, and government. The job description, duties, and functions of the sonographer. Career opportunities in ultrasound.



MCCCD Official Course Competencies
1. Describe the jobs, duties and functions of sonographers in the clinical setting. (I)
2. Explain the practice of ultrasound in the private office, hospital and clinic settings. (II)
3. Describe the types of health care delivery systems: private, for profit, not for profit and government where ultrasound is practiced. (III)
4. Identify the career opportunities available to Sonographers in the public and private sector to include hospitals, education and commercial. (IV)
