Description: An introduction to the theory and practice of tap dance.



MCCCD Official Course Competencies
1. Demonstrate correct placement and alignment for dance. (I)
2. Perform basic tap dance skills at the barre, in the center, and across the floor. (I, II, III)
3. Demonstrate correct rhythmic clarity of steps. (I, II, III, IV)
4. Demonstrate correct sound clarity of steps. (I, II, III, IV)
5. Perform tap styles with clarity and correctness. (II, III, IV)
6. Relate historical development of tap dance to tap dance style. (II)
7. Critique the correctness in performance and style of self and others. (IV)
