Description: Dance training for personal skill development and interest. Theory and practice of ballet at the beginning level.



MCCCD Official Course Competencies
1. Demonstrate correct placement and alignment for ballet. (I, II, III)
2. Use basic locomotor and axial movements at the barre, in center, and across the floor. (I, II, III, IV)
3. Identify correct components of ballet technique, theories, and styles. (I, II, III, IV, V)
4. Utilize the theory of the body`s relationship to gravity and the center of gravity used in ballet. (I, II, III, IV, V)
5. Practice the basic elements of dance: space, time and energy. (IV)
