Description: Basic medical front office procedures including alphabetic and numeric indexing, filing and accounting. Emphasis on basic clerical skills along with dealing with patient and physician confidentiality issues



MCCCD Official Course Competencies
1. Identify procedures for assigning, indexing and cross-referencing (I)
2. Identify procedures for using transcription equipment and tapes to mailable copy. (I)
3. Describe procedures for managing medical records. (I)
4. Describe responsibilities with regards to office management. (II)
5. Explain procedures for dealing with business, personal and confiditential mail. (II)
6. Describe considerations in dealing with patient and physician con (II)
7. Explain basic office accounting and banking procedures. (III)
