Description: Principles, processes, and tools for effective leadership. Concepts of pathfinding, aligning, empowering, and modeling as it applies to leadership in organizations



MCCCD Official Course Competencies
1. Explain the four roles and identify the need in a constantly changing environment for the direction and constancy each role provides. (I)
2. Apply the pathfinding elements of stakeholders needs, mission and values, and vision and strategy to an actual initiative. (II)
3. Describe the importance of a balanced ecosystem, the parts of the ecosystem, and how those parts work together. (III)
4. Identify conditions of empowerment, their leadership style and apply win-win thinking and win-win agreements. (IV)
5. Explain how character and competence impact trustworthiness. (V)
6. Identify how to improve trustworthiness and the confidence of others in their leadership. (V)
MCCCD Official Course Competencies must be coordinated with the content outline so that each major point in the outline serves one or more competencies. MCCCD faculty retains authority in determining the pedagogical approach, methodology, content sequencing, and assessment metrics for student work.
