1. Identify the various types of developmental disabilities and causes. (I)
2. Identify various life quality issues and demonstrate the medical, state, and federal conditions for care and service of people with developmental disabilities. (I, IV) 3. Explain the basic principles and implications of the Americans with Disabilities Act, other national programs and laws dealing with people with developmental disabilities. (II) 4. Use language appropriate for assessment of people with developmental disabilities and their environments. (IV) 5. Utilize the general tools of assessment currently used by the State of Arizona for people with developmental disabilities. (IV) 6. Explain behavioral effects of developmental disabilities and apply social and behavioral models for assisting people with developmental disabilities. (I, IV) 7. Identify various problems with assessment as it is currently done in the developmental disabilities industry and related fields. (IV) 8. Explain differences in expressions, behaviors, attitudes, etc. related to culture with regard to people with developmental disabilities and their social contexts. (II) 9.
