Description: Exploration of topics related to the development of helping professionals involved with loss, bereavement, and grief work



MCCCD Official Course Competencies
1. Identify factors affecting individuals in the grief and bereavement process. (II)
2. Identify the phases and stages of grief, loss, and recovery. (I, II)
3. Describe the emotional and psychological effects on the bereaved. (II)
4. Describe typical behavioral responses to grief and loss in adults. (III)
5. Describe typical behavioral responses to grief and loss in adolescents and children. (III)
6. Assess effective models of intervention in various institutional settings. (IV)
7. Assess effective team crisis intervention models. (V)
8. Identify the spiritual dimensions of grief and bereavement. (VI)
