Description: Conversational Arabic with emphasis on basic sentence structure, pronunciation and vocabulary. Designed to develop speaking and listening abilities with less emphasis on grammar

1. Pronounce Arabic words, using standard sound patterns and intonations. (I)
2. Use verbal sentences and nominal sentences. (I)
3. Use Arabic greetings, introductions, and farewells. (II)
4. Give calendar dates, and ask time in Arabic. (III)
5. Identify countries, capital cities, and inhabitants of the Arabic world. (IV)
6. Ask and give directions in Arabic. (V)
7. Give and follow simple commands in Arabic. (VI)
8. Use numbers between 0 and 1,000,000 in Arabic. (VII)
9. Identify cognates of Arabic and English. (VIII)
10. Use adjectives in masculine and feminine forms. (IX)
11. Use Arabic vocabulary to converse about family members. (X)
12. Use Arabic vocabulary dealing with parts of the body. (X)
13. Use Arabic vocabulary dealing with the household. (X)
14. Use Arabic vocabulary related to food, the supermarket, and prices. (X)
15. Converse in Arabic on topics related to restaurants, the post office, the hotel, at the bank, and on a vacation. (XI)
16. Compare and contrast Arabic and Anglo cultures. (XII)
