Description: Flight course in preparation for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Certified Flight Instructor: Helicopter practical examination. Emphasis on demonstration and analysis of flight maneuvers. Includes preflight procedures, airport and heliport operations, hovering maneuvers, takeoffs,landings, and go-arounds, fundamentals of flight, performance maneuvers, emergency operations, special operations, and post-flight procedures. Requires approximately 60 hours of flight at student`s expense. Also requires passing check ride similar to the FAA Certified Flight Instructor check ride.



MCCCD Official Course Competencies
1. Review and practice private and commercial maneuvers. (I)
2. Operate the helicopter in accordance with commercial pilot standards. (II)
3. Demonstrate, explain, analyze, and critique ground and flight operations in accordance with published pilot standards. (III)
4. Demonstrate, explain, analyze, and critique ground and flight operations in accordance with the certified flight instructor pilot standard. (IV)
