Description: Introduces students to materials, hardware, and systems related to the plumbing profession. Provides instruction in drain, waste, and vent (DWV) systems as well as installation, maintenance, and repair.



MCCCD Official Course Competencies
1. Demonstrate Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), trade, and local safety standards in daily work. (I-V)
2. Demonstrate industry-standard professionalism that includes safety, dress, attendance communication, and customer service. (I-V)
3. Document work performed according to industry standards. (I-V)
4. Effectively operate hand tools, power tools and equipment. (II)
5. Interpret specifications and drawings to determine Drain Waste and Vent (DWV) materials. (II, III)
6. Discuss DWV system including proper maintenance, water system issues and corrective measures. (IV)
7. Install DWV systems using appropriate codes, tools, and materials. (V)
