Description: Introduces students to materials, hardware, and systems related to the plumbing profession. Provides instruction in drain, waste, and vent (DWV) systems as well as installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing systems, fixtures and appliances.

4. Effectively operate hand tools, power tools and equipment. (II)
5. Interpret specifications and drawings to determine plumbing and Drain Waste and Vent (DWV) materials. (II, III)
6. Explain a water distribution system, including water supply and movement, components and function, and the relationships between components of a water distribution system. (IV)
7. Explain the purpose of valves, fittings, and pipes on water pressure reduction. (IV, V)
8. Discuss types of plumbing fixtures and appliances, fixture codes, and operating functions of plumbing systems. (V)
9. Describe defects and repairs in plumbing, DWV systems, water heating systems, water distribution systems and potable water service. (VI)
10. Discuss proper maintenance of plumbing systems including water system issues and corrective measures. (VII)
11. Install plumbing systems, DWV systems, water heating systems, potable water services, and water distribution systems using appropriate codes, tools, and materials. (VIII)
