Description: Examines the layout and construction procedures for floor systems, including: interpretation of construction drawings and specifications, selection of appropriate types of floor and wall system components; and application of floor and wall system materials. Provides an overview of ceiling and roof construction methods, the different types of roofs used in residential construction and materials, and the use of trusses and conventional roof framing. Includes estimation of materials.

2. Demonstrate industry-standard professionalism that includes safety, dress, attendance communication, and customer service. (I)
3. Document work performed according to industry standards. (I)
4. Interpret specifications and drawings to determine floor, wall, and roof system requirements. (II-VII)
5. Estimate the amount of material to frame a floor, wall, ceiling, and roof assembly from a set of plans. (II-VI)
6. Select the required construction method and materials for floors, walls, ceiling, and roof systems. (II-VI)
7. Layout material to complete the construction of the frame, a floor, wall, ceiling, or roof assembly according to specifications. (II-VI)
8. Employ the various fasteners, anchors, and building materials used in construction. (II-VII)
