Description: Exploration of various modalities and integration of healthcare technology and informatics to manage and communicate data, advance health information literacy, and improve patient outcomes. Focus on components, applications, problem solving, and data management strategies.



MCCCD Official Course Competencies
1. Assess the role of nursing informatics in improving patient outcomes in a variety of settings. (I-III)
2. Analyze current trends and tools used to access health information and improve health information literacy among diverse populations. (I-III) 
3. Discuss potential legal and ethical issues associated with electronic information systems including the management of a confidential and secure environment. (I-IV)
4. Describe nursing informatics and its role in the management of healthcare information. (I-IV) 
5. Evaluate the impact of electronic health, mobile health, and telehealth on health care delivery. (II, IV)
