Description: Preparation for latest National Institute for Metalworking Skills (NIMS) Machining Level I certification in Drill Press, Manual Milling, Turning, and Grinding.



MCCCD Official Course Competencies
1. Interpret engineering documentation for specific machining operation. (I)
2. Effectively document work. (I, II, VIII)
3. Safely perform manual vertical mill operations to manufacture a part to industry standards. (I-III, V)
4. Safely perform manual lathe operations to manufacture a part to industry standards. (I-III, VI)
5. Safely perform manual surface grinder operations to manufacture a part to industry standards. (I-III, VII)
6. Safely perform manual drill press operations to manufacture a part to industry standards. (I-IV)
7. Design process sequencing for specific products, utilizing the correct cutting, measuring, and hand tools for manual machine operations. (I-VIII)
8. Apply mathematics equations in performing machining processes. (I-VIII)
