Description: Introduction to layout, basic welding, and fabrication. Introduction to the basic skills of measuring, equipment setup and cutting, shaping, grinding, welding, filing, and heating and bending of metal parts.



MCCCD Official Course Competencies
1. Identify basic welding components. (I)
2. Recognize welding fabrication symbols. (II)
3. Evaluate arc welding methods, electrode characteristics, equipment use and storage. (III)
4. Demonstrate proper setup for torch cutting and welding equipment. (IV, V)
5. Utilize proper techniques to complete torch cutting and welding assignments. (IV, V)
