Description: Journalism work experience with a newspaper or other news organization. 80 hours of designated work per credit.



MCCCD Official Course Competencies
1. Apply journalism classroom instruction to work experiences during 80 hours per credit per semester.
2. Accomplish individualized journalism-related learning objectives.
3. Communicate effectively with news organization personnel and with faculty coordinator.
4. Apply human relations skills in the news organization setting.
MCCCD Official Course Competencies must be coordinated with the content outline so that each major point in the outline serves one or more competencies. MCCCD faculty retains authority in determining the pedagogical approach, methodology, content sequencing, and assessment metrics for student work.
