Description: Focuses on principles of effective collaboration, consultation, and co-teaching to improve programs, services, and outcomes for students with disabilities and their families. Topics include interpersonal communication strategies and collaboration tools for working with diverse groups of people.

1. Discuss collaboration and its critical characteristics. (I)
2. Define the three types of interpersonal communication. (II)
3. Analyze situational challenges to select appropriate strategies to enhance interpersonal communication. (II)
4. Demonstrate how to provide and receive feedback effectively. (II)
5. Distinguish between reactive and proactive approaches to problem solving. (II)
6. Compare and contrast methods of communication to improve collaboration efforts. (II, III)
7. Compare and contrast multidisciplinary, interdisciplinary, and transdisciplinary teams. (III)
8. Examine approaches for implementing co-teaching. (III)
9. Describe major causes of conflict. (IV)
10. Identify response styles to select appropriate strategies for addressing conflict. (IV)
