1. Differentiate between critical thinking, clinical reasoning, and clinical judgment. (I)
2. Discuss data and implications of failure to apply clinical judgment and appropriate clinical decision-making in nursing and healthcare situations. (II) 3. Describe the steps in the clinical judgment decision-making model. (III) 4. Relate the National Council for State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN) Clinical Judgment Assessment/Measurement Model (CJAM/CJMM) and the nursing process to the clinical judgment decision-making model and factors that influence clinical judgment. (IV) 5. Apply the clinical judgment decision-making model steps to make appropriate clinical decisions in nursing and other healthcare situations. (V) 6. Integrate patient-centered care, professionalism (including ethical principles), leadership, system-based practice, informatics and technology, communication, teamwork and collaboration, safety, quality improvement, and evidenced-based practice in the application of a clinical judgment decision-making model in nursing and other healthcare situations.
