Description: Introduction to sustainable horticulture industry standards. Includes an overview of safety practices, workplace habits, tools, and equipment.



MCCCD Official Course Competencies
1. Demonstrate safe personal and workplace habits according to industry standards. (I)
2. Demonstrate industry standard professionalism that includes proper attire, communication, and attendance. (II)
3. Document work performed according to industry standards. (III)
4. Demonstrate the function and use of basic hand tools. (IV)
5. Demonstrate the function and use of major agriculture equipment. (V)
6. Demonstrate proper use of power equipment. (VI)
7. Perform equipment inspection. (VII)
8. Use appropriate service information, tools, and equipment to perform common minor repairs. (VIII)
