Description: Introduction to Computer-aided drafting (CAD) for the creation of construction documents including: annotated plans, elevations, schedules and schematic section views. Dimensions, notes, and symbols to be included in the set of construction documents.



MCCCD Official Course Competencies
1. Manage drawing files, including creating, naming, saving, updating, copying, and inserting files. (I-VIII)
2. Configure drawing settings with typical architectural formats. (II, V-VI, VIII)
3. Utilize a block library. (IV)
4. Apply basic commands typical to architectural drawings. (IV-V)
5. Produce blocks. (IV, VII)
6. Demonstrate knowledge of architectural terminology. (V, VIII)
7. Produce plans and elevation drawings. (V, VII, IX)
8. Plot drawings at various scales on paper sizes using Paper Space. (VI-VII)
9. Apply industry standard scale factors for digital and print drawing production. (VI)
10. Apply architecturally formatted annotation styles. (VIII)
11. Apply XREF Manager to architecturally formatted drawing files into annotated plan, furniture plan, and elevation. (IX)
