Description: Examines health-related behaviors and issues associated with a modern lifestyle. Explores current topics of interest related to mental, physical, social and environmental health such as stress management, nutrition, and fitness. Identifies and evaluates personal and community strategies to promote an optimal lifestyle.



MCCCD Official Course Competencies
1. Assess one’s personal health status and identify influencing factors. (I)
2. Analyze internal and external influences that impact health. (I, II, III, IV)
3. Use health information and research to create evidence-based solutions for improving health status in a variety of areas such as mental, physical, social and environmental health. (I-VII)
