Description: Continued study of the grammar and vocabulary of Ancient Greek and Ancient Greek culture. Emphasis on reading and translating Ancient Greek to English, culminating in the reading of unadapted ancient texts.



MCCCD Official Course Competencies
1. Analyze advanced morphological and syntactic structures of Ancient Greek. (I)
2. Identify further Greek roots and elements in English and other Indo-European languages. (I)
3. Translate increasingly complex Ancient Greek sentences into English. (I-II)
4. Translate English sentences into Ancient Greek at an increasing level of complexity. (I-II)
5. Demonstrate comprehension of selections from original, unadapted Ancient Greek texts. (I-II)
6. Describe more complex aspects of Ancient Greek culture and history. (II)
