Description: Workshop in the study and performance of musical theatre repertoire. Includes audition techniques, stage directions, character role development, rehearsal techniques, vocal acting styles and vocal technique, stage movement, crew roles, and performance.




MCCCD Official Course Competencies
1. Apply stage directions in performing a musical theatre role. (I)
2. Display freedom of the body for the demands of stage movement. (II)
3. Prepare and develop the role of assigned character. (III)
4. Use clear articulation and enunciation in text of the role. (IV)
5. Apply techniques for improving voice, vocal harmonies, and musicianship. (IV)
6. Analyze vocal score and script. (IV)
7. Demonstrate self-confidence in rehearsal and performance. (V)
8. Apply acting techniques to performance. (V)
9. Apply technical skills in the execution of crew duties. (VI)
10. Evaluate one`s own rehearsal and performance. (I-VI)
