Description: Introduction to Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) for the Entertainment industry, including stage, screen and television venues, using CAD software. Includes basic set-ups, formats, two-dimensional drawing and editing commands, dimensions, text, and plotting typical to entertainment industries.



MCCCD Official Course Competencies
1. Construct a drawing set-up in typical architectural formats for the entertainment industry, including setting units, limits, layers, linetypes, styles, and display. (I, II, IV)
2. Prescribe basic two-dimensional draw commands for technical drawings commonly used in the entertainment industry. (II, IV)
3. Evaluate and apply architecturally formatted dimension styles. (II, IV)
4. Evaluate and apply selected text styles. (II, IV)
5. Manage drawing files, including creating, naming, saving, updating, copying, inserting files, and sharing and sending files. (III, IV, V)
6. Evaluate and apply basic modify and edit commands. (IV, V)
7. Design of blocks for drawing libraries. (IV, V)
8. Prepare drawings of various scales on a variety of paper sizes using Paper Space. (IV)
9. Complete assigned plan, elevation, and sectional drawings. (I-IV)
