Description: Designed to provide an overview of the pathophysiologic principles of pharmacology, pharmacologic agents in the Paramedic scope of practice, and the practice of medication administration. Develops psychomotor skills in the paramedic scope of practice through sequenced lab simulations. Prepares students to integrate comprehensive knowledge of the pathophysiologic principles of pharmacology and pharmacologic agents to formulate a differential diagnosis and to implement a management plan for medical emergencies and trauma.

1. Describe the pathophysiologic principles of pharmacology. (I)
2. Describe pharmacologic agents in the paramedic scope of practice. (II)
3. Safely operate equipment and technology used in medication administration according to paramedic scope of practice. (III)
4. Administer medication according to standard protocols. (IV)
5. Integrate principles of pharmacology to perform a comprehensive patient assessment in the paramedic scope of practice for medical emergencies and trauma. (V)
6. Integrate principles of pharmacology to formulate a differential diagnosis in the paramedic scope of practice for medical emergencies and trauma. (V)
7. Integrate principles of pharmacology to implement a management plan in the paramedic scope of practice for medical emergencies and trauma. (V)
